and participate in traditional West African dances. These dances are
known for teaching social patterns and values and helping people work,
mature, praise, or criticize community members while celebrating
festivals and funerals, competing, reciting history, proverbs and
poetry. Celebrate yourself through dance and learn how core African
movements can be used to connect with ones inner most feelings. The
movements can be incorporated into many modern dance styles. Instructor:

form of music and communication. Learn to perform drum routines and
discover their meanings. Also, learn how to use drum patterns and
rhythms to tell stories, create a mood, relieve stress, call people to
action, inspire celebration, convey emotions and articulate personal

languages bond a

to a geographic location, a history, a common community and enrich your
sense of heritage and culture. Form this connection and develop
your native tongue through learning to speak Twi, from Ghana, West
Africa. Join a interactive global online learning environment and speak
with others locally and worldwide. Other classes include
Kiswahili, Yoruba, Wolof inquire about annual group

Healthy and vegetarian cooking on a budget!
Learn how to use spices to cook delicious and flavorful meals through
practical applications and interactions during class. Also explore basic
and advanced cooking techniques to make meals faster, and highlight
vegan-friendly desserts, raw food, tofu,

whole meal recipes. Students will realize how mind, body and spirit are

Youth learn how feelings and ideas can be expressed through
movement and dance. Concepts of personal space and other
ideas discussed. Course teaches social patterns and
values. Also, reviews historic aspects of how African
dance help people work, mature, praise or criticize community
members while celebrating festivals and funerals, competing,
reciting history, proverbs and poetry. Celebrate yourself
through dance and learn how core African movements can be used

Free course restrictions: All volunteer hours must be
completed before volunteer course credits are issued. Not
